Sustainable with coffee grounds

Dye Easter eggs with coffee grounds

In addition to being enjoyed as a drink , coffee can also be used for many other purposes . For example, you can use coffee grounds to color eggs naturally , without any artificial coloring . When dyeing Easter eggs naturally , various techniques are used, all of which are based on the boiling of natural dyes . We 'll show you how you can reuse your coffee grounds sustainably and easily dye beautiful Easter eggs from them.

What you need for this:

  • Eggs
  • 100 g coffee grounds (or coffee powder)
  • 1L water

Coloring eggs naturally: This is how it works
  1. Put the coffee grounds in a pot and boil it with a liter of water.
  2. Carefully add the eggs one at a time to the pot and cook the eggs for about 10 minutes.
  3. Then take the eggs out and let them drain on some kitchen paper. If you like, you can also stick various stickers on the eggs before cooking, which can then be removed afterwards. This can create beautiful patterns or motifs on the eggs.
Our recommendation: The now dark brown eggs offer an excellent basis for particularly bright watercolors to give the Easter eggs that certain something.

We wish you a lot of fun crafting and a happy Easter!
