There's hardly anything better than a good steak! The sight alone fascinates us and the appetite for a juicy piece of meat seems to be innate in most of us, similar to learning to walk and talk. However, preparing the perfect steak can be a real challenge. For this reason, we have put together the best tips and tricks for you so that you can conjure up a perfect steak on your plate every time.

Choose the right meat

The first step to a perfect steak is choosing the right meat. Therefore, choose a high-quality piece of meat with good marbling. Marbling refers to the fat embedded in the meat that provides the steak's flavor and tenderness. Good types of meat for steaks include: entrecôte or ribeye, fillet or tenderloin, rump steak, dry aged beef, T-bone or porterhouse, mayor's cut.

Allow the steak to thaw at room temperature

Before putting the steak on the grill or in the pan, let it rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. This means the steak is cooked more evenly and stays juicier.

Spice up

Season your steak well. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides before placing on the grill. For a more intense taste, we recommend adding other spices such as garlic, thyme and rosemary.

Cook properly
